Chris Theodoropolous

In 2018 Chris Theodoropoulos and one friend booked a roundtrip flight from San Francisco to New York just days before Chris’ 18th Birthday. Most of the photos that Chris wanted to capture on his first trip to NYC involved breaking several laws and trespassing. The thinking behind this trip’s timing was that if he or his friend would be caught, they would be tried as minors and likely receive a more favorable trial in court. During this trip there they had no plans, nowhere to stay, and brought no money. They spent the night on the street, taking turns watching each other's equipment while the other slept. Photographing every sunrise and sunset possible. They would wander buildings and subway stations throughout the night looking for new perspectives on the city.
